The Lytle Auditorium is a natural light photography and production studio conveniently located directly across from the Belmont Metra stop in Downers Grove, 25 miles outside of downtown Chicago.
After launching The Lytle House in Chicago six years ago, it became apparent that there was a growing need for a curated, small studio space. Working from our experience with that first brick and mortar, design for the property started with addressing the factors that were limiting our studio capabilities.
Extra tall ceilings, easy load-in, off-street parking, and divisible rooms allowing for workshops and studio photography to occur simultaneously were mapped out early in the process, providing the framework that the rest of the building would grow and improve on from our Chicago base.
Although the structure is still arranged for natural light photography using architectural and landscaped backdrops (this time indoors, allowing for year-round access), the additions now allow for total control and transformation of the environment through production lighting and set design; whichever is preferred to achieve the desired effect.
All of our businesses have created an element of giving back to their communities. In Chicago, we did this through The Lytle House Art Initiativebut being a Downers Grove native and raising our own family here as well, we wanted to give back in a deeper way.

Listening is the first step in learning.
In the coming years, in addition to our in house classes, we want to support and develop programs in Downers Grove that foster young entrepreneurship through personal responsibility and community.
Our aim is for The Lytle Auditorium to be an environment to listen, learn and grow.
