PigMint

Hi, I'm Rachel, I am the owner and artist behind PigMint.

I spent my career as a graphic designer—designing everything from logos and branding to invitations and more. Then in late 2019 I stumbled upon this dyeing technique and fell in love with taking blank, white clothes and making them come alive with color. By January 2020 this shop was up and running. I still make everything by hand, and put as much care into my last piece as I did my first.

PigMint products are produced right here in Downers Grove. Each item is dyed meticulously by hand with fiber reactive dyes and an ice-dyeing process that takes a full 24 hours to complete. This creates beautiful patterns and color variations that won't bleed or wash out.

Dream Pop Threads

I’m Sierra — a California native now living in Chicagoland, and a mom who discovered a love for crochet while preparing for my daughter’s arrival. What started as a few handmade baskets for baby toys quickly turned into a creative passion to create functional and fun accessories.

During the quiet days of the pandemic, I found joy in making colorful, cheerful pieces to lift my spirits and brighten up our home. That spark grew into a collection of whimsical, vintage-inspired home decor and accessories. My work draws heavily from the playful energy of 70s fashion — think bold colors, fun textures, and retro flair with a modern twist.

Dream Pop Threads was founded in 2023, after many years of creating custom blankets, coasters, and accessories for family and friends. What started as a passion to create bold, colorful crochet accessories and home decor has grown into a joyful small business. From playful headbands to one of a kind purses, Dream Pop Threads brings a pop of color and retro charm to everyday life.

Each piece is handmade with love and a little bit of nostalgia. Thanks for supporting my handmade business!

Tattered Roots

My name is Elena DiVenti and I live in Downers Grove with my husband and 2 kids ages 7 & 10.  I took my first macramé class about 10 years ago on a whim with a girlfriend just to get out of the house for a little bit being a first time, exhausted mom. I fell in love with it and slowly kept teaching myself at home while hanging out with a newborn at night.  All these years later I continue to create pieces that I genuinely love to make. I have created small keychains to full size wall hangings and I love the challenge of making something I have never even thought of crafting.

I love creating custom pieces, products for art shows, for my website or just to make for fun! My house is always full of plant holders, wall hangings, rope and random projects I start. Over the years I was making so much I was giving it away to friends and family and finally found the courage to start a small Etsy sight. I always knew I wanted to keep creating but needed a bigger audience to share my creativity with. At the end of the day I still create for fun because I truly do love the craft itself, but starting a small business out of it gives me a confidence I didn't know I could have and it has brought opportunities my way that I could never have imagined!

M. Jaye Art

Hi! I'm Mistie. I started drawing before I could even write. I would sit in front of my 13-channel TV in New Hampshire, watching the Saturday morning art show and drawing along. I have taken art classes and/or have always been creating art my entire life. I took every art class my high school offered and designed my own Art Concentration program at Boston College.

Yet with a growing family and busy career, art was always a lesser priority. I did some pieces for fun over the years, and in 2024, vowed to make it more of a priority. I drew my first charcoal pinecone on a whim about a year ago. I loved how it looked and have spent the past year creating pinecones and refining them. I love the way each pinecone has nuances, almost like a personality.

Two of my favorites I created I named “Sisters,” just enough to look like each other but very different. After a corporate marketing job, talking and typing all day, I love listening to music, and getting my hands messy with the charcoal. With a blended family of seven kiddos, I am counting the days until I can snag one of their bedrooms as an art studio; for now, my dining room table has become my creating place. My pinecones are sketched in pencil from a real-life subject picked up on daily walks, and completed in charcoal on paper or canvas.

Hickory Grove

Hickory Grove is run by wife, mom, and professor of music Alana Nelson. Growing up on a farm in Michigan where my mother made goat milk soap for family and friends, I wanted to raise my boys on a little farm and provide them with the same superb skincare! In the spring of 2020, dreams were realized as my husband and I purchased a small farm in Wayne, IL and accrued 14 animals in about a month (my city boy husband was definitely in shock). The Mother/Daughter duo soon dreamed up a plan to revive the old soap recipes.

Hickory Grove specializes in making luxurious, small batch goat's milk soap with organic oils, nutrients, and essential oils. We won't ever use fragrances or anything that hasn't been responsibly sourced!

Perry Styles

Who’s got team spirit? We do!

Perry Styles is your one-stop custom shop, proudly named after our beloved rescue dog, Perry. As a foster family for the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue, we have welcomed many medical-needs pups into our home, and this journey inspired me to build a business that allows me to work from home while continuing to give back.

All proceeds from the “Perry Styles Tee” are donated directly to Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. In addition, I am honored to partner with a few D58 schools, where a portion of all sales are donated back to the school’s PTA. Having grown up in DG, it’s extra special to see my kids attend the same schools I once did. Go Mustangs!

My greatest joy is creating meaningful, high-quality items designed to be loved for years—whether it’s a hat, ornament, or customized tee. I would love to help you create something truly special.

Florabell

FloraBell Flowers, your local Downers Grove flower farmer, will be offering beautiful birch box indoor floral arrangements with fresh cut pine stems, accompanied by gorgeous natural elements like magnolia leaves, seeded eucalyptus, pampas grasses, lotus pods, and more.  Additionally, Danielle will have adorable simmer pots for you to add to boiling water and make your home smell fresh and just like the holidays.  Lastly, gift cards for the 2026 flower stand will be available for purchase.

What was once a light garden hobby turned into passion and nature therapy as Danielle and Doug managed the challenging grief of suddenly losing one of their dearest friends, Sam Bell in September 2022. FloraBell Flowers began the following season in summer 2023 after encouragement from friends to start sharing the seasonal blooms with the community. Growing in 500 square feet in their suburban yard makes this a nano production. In 2025, they added growing space at The Lytle Auditorium. Danielle is resourceful to get the freshest, local flowers into the hands of the Downers Grove community via a farm stand and subscription service. Sam Bell visited the garden just a week before he passed in 2022. One of the last things he said to The Bergandine Family was about how incredible the garden was and that they should keep it up. They do so in his honor.   A portion of every flower sold benefits The Samuel Bell Memorial Foundation and Rising Kites.

Sawdust2you

We are a small local wood shop located in Downers Grove.  We create custom planters, folding tables, holiday decorations and gifts, wine storage boxes, signs, epoxy projects, bread boards and so much more.
The workshop started out creating items for friends, neighbors and family.  Over time it has expanded to Etsy and its own direct website.  I started it in preparation to keep busy in retirement and to continue to learn new shop skills.

Bluestar Bakery

I started Blue Star Bakery out of a love for thick, gooey bakery style cookies. I love creating and trying new flavors, perfecting recipes and providing joy through baked goods. Blue Star has a community focus, with quality ingredients.

Cookies are our favorite products, especially a classic chocolate chip. Crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. Our bakery style cookies are 4 ounces, perfect for an indulgent snack or to share.

La Mie Pâtisserie

La Mie Pâtisserie is a small cottage food bakery in Downers Grove. It all started back in 2019 when our family planned a get together with new friends who were also transplants from the San Francisco Bay Area. We decided to host a dinner highlighting some of San Francisco's iconic foods. I made my first sourdough loaf, and boy was it terrible! But bring on the pandemic, the Tartine Bread book, and a strong desire to recreate the delicious bread I missed so dearly, and I am now making bread and pastries for all of you!

I use simple ingredients, and bake when I have the time and energy. I am a science teacher at O'Neill, so baking is not my full time job, but it is an outlet that brings me joy amongst the chaos of my life. From French pastries like croissants and kouign amann to crumbly scones and gooey cinnamon rolls, I've got your sweet tooth covered! You can find me selling these goods in front of my house on select weekends, or message me for special orders and for bread.

It's My Jam

Ellen has always enjoyed farm-type jobs. She has gone to Farmhands Camp at Kline Creek Farm and enjoys the Little House on the Prairie books. After visiting the Laura Ingalls Wilder homestead in South Dakota this summer, she wanted to make food in a similar fashion as during the frontier days. She has always enjoyed being in the kitchen, especially creating meals and products for others to enjoy.

Ellen started "It's My Jam" after picking strawberries this summer. Her family picked way too many to eat, so she turned them into shelf-stable jam. She was the head chef and helped with the whole process from cutting the berries to sealing the jars. In the fall, her family picked way too many apples in Indiana, so she made those into apple butter. Ellen has watched her mom, Jen from La Mie, start and run her own business, and she wanted to do the same. She has sold lots of jams at pop-up bake sales, and people rave about how good the jam is!

Ino Schaller

Since 1894, the Ino Schaller Company has been producing paper mache Santas in Germany, still using the same traditional molds used for generations. These highly collected masterpieces are hand painted and decorated by family and neighbors in Germany. After visiting many Christmas Markets across Europe, local resident Aubrey Wysocki wanted to bring some of the same craftsmen made products she saw at those Christmas markets home. Aubrey worked directly with the Schaller family to gather some of the best examples of the tradition paper mache Santas as well as some of the modern "trendy" non paper mache items to the Belmont Holiday Market for all to enjoy!

The Forever Bloom Studio

I’m Angela Casaccio, owner of The Forever Bloom Studio in Downers Grove. After years as an interior designer, I now create elegant real-touch faux floral arrangements and Botanical watercolor paintings that capture the beauty of nature in lasting form. Each piece is designed with an eye for color, texture, and balance, bringing timeless floral artistry into everyday spaces. marlo + olive

My name is Julie Misarti.  I started marlo+olive back in 2020, 3 days before the pandemic hit.  Someone had given me 2 Turkish towels, and I didn’t understand them.  I didn’t use them for a year.  Then my Turkish friend came to visit me at the lake.  She taught me all about Turkish cotton, how it is known worldwide for it’s absorbency and ability to dry quickly, and also for it’s softness.  Then she educated me on how versatile Turkish towels are as they can be used as a towel, but also as a cover up, a shawl, a scarf, a travel blanket, etc…. By the end of the day, I was in love and knew I wanted to share this amazing product with everyone!  So we started marlo+olive, named after my friend’s cat, Marlo and my dog at the time, Olive.

Over the years, we have grown and now carry hand towels, hair towels, robes, blankets and of course Turkish towels.  All of our products are 100% Turkish cotton.  And to make them extra gift-able, we offer custom embroidery.   Our products make great gifts for just about everyone on your list.

Alchemist Goods

Hi! I’m Jamie, mom to 4 kids and wife to a raised-on-pop-tarts kind of 80’s child - which are ultimately what landed me here, creating Alchemist Goods. As I became a mom, I began to care more and more about what I put into my body, especially while I was pregnant, and what I was giving to the little growing brains and bodies at my kitchen table!

I was finding that too much of our food is full of preservatives, grown using dangerous pesticides and overly processed. But, hey, let's be honest, sometimes grocery store prepared dinners and fast food drive thru’s are the only option for busy humans just trying to get by these days. But does it always have to be?

That’s where Alchemist Goods comes in. I wanted to share my passion for feeding my family wholesome, nourishing meals made from real organic ingredients and the belief that food should and can be both delicious and deeply nourishing. Alchemist Goods is small batch organic soups, nuts, granola and more, all meant to nourish your soul, fuel busy days and ease the mealtime burden.

Designed for busy moms and dads, business owners, work-a-holics, athletes, artists, dreamers and the like, who still want to put wholesome, homemade meals on the table. Each recipe is crafted with care and intention, balancing flavor, nourishment, health benefits, and always made with the best organic ingredients and so much love. Alchemist Goods makes it easy to choose wellness without compromise.

All are welcome here.

The Bar Above

TBA started as a hobby out of our kitchen in 2018.  I was just going to make a few bars of soap.  As I learned more about skincare and what was in it, the TBA product line grew.  Balm Sunday® was released around Easter, Sugar Mama was named after my hopes of becoming one for my hubby, and Champagne Friday™ after our favorite day of the week when all our creative juices are flowing!

Why tallow?  Well, I grew up on a small dairy farm in Wisconsin, and was familiar with the goodness of tallow and all of it's traditional uses.  I felt using tallow as the backbone of TBA's formulations would help to simplify skin care routines and help get us back to the basics.
